What is temple filler?

Temple filler is a non-surgical treatment that places dermal filler into the hollow at the side of the forehead to restore lost volume. The temple sits between the outer brow, the hairline and the upper cheekbone. As this area loses fat and bone support with age, the face can look narrow or drawn at the sides.

What does temple filler improve?

It softens visible temple hollowing and smooths the transition between the forehead, outer brow and cheekbone. It does not address every upper-face concern, so the brow, cheek and overall proportions are assessed together before any recommendation is made.

How much does temple filler cost in London?

Temple filler at Dr Kay Clinic is £350 and includes up to 1 ml of dermal filler. The price is confirmed at your consultation, and no package is prescribed before your anatomy has been assessed in person.

How long does a temple filler appointment take?

The consultation takes 30 minutes and the treatment itself takes 30 minutes. Consultation and treatment can often be arranged on the same visit if you are suitable and happy to proceed, but there is never any pressure to decide on the day.

How long do temple filler results last?

Longevity varies with the product selected, the amount used, your anatomy and your metabolism. Dr Kay gives you a realistic expectation after examining the area. Maintenance is optional rather than automatic, and is reviewed each time.

Does temple filler hurt, and is there downtime?

Most people describe brief pressure rather than pain, and most return to normal activities the same day. Temporary tenderness, swelling or bruising can occur. You receive personalised aftercare and a direct clinic contact route before you leave.

Will temple filler look obvious?

The plan is built around subtle volume restoration and facial balance, not maximum fullness. The amount needed differs between people, and the aim is that the upper face simply looks better supported rather than treated.

Is temple filler safe, and can it be reversed?

The temple contains layered anatomy including important vessels, which is why it should be treated by an experienced medical professional after a full assessment. All treatments carry risks, which Dr Kay discusses with you before consent. Hyaluronic acid fillers can usually be dissolved if clinically appropriate.

Who is not suitable for temple filler?

Treatment is for adults aged 18 and over, and is not carried out during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or where there is active infection in the area. Certain medical conditions, medications and previous filler may also change the plan. Suitability is always confirmed in person.

Why is an in-person assessment important?

Temple anatomy differs significantly between people, so it cannot be assessed from a photograph. Examination helps Dr Kay decide whether filler is appropriate at all, how much may be useful, and whether ultrasound should support the plan.
