Skin needling uses controlled micro-channels to trigger your skin’s own repair and collagen response, helping to improve texture, pores and early scarring on the face, neck or décolletage. It works without the deeper resurfacing of a peel.

How many sessions will I need?
Most are delivered as a course that is confirmed at your assessment. A superficial peel can be a one-off refresh or a course, a medium-depth peel is often effective as a single treatment or a short course, and a pigmentation programme varies from person to person.
Can these treatments help with acne scarring?
Early or mild scarring often improves with a course of microneedling, and certain peels can improve scarring and texture over a course. More established scarring may need additional treatment types, so Dr Kay assesses your scarring individually.
Is there downtime?
It depends on the treatment. A superficial peel has no downtime, with mild redness possible briefly. Microneedling usually causes mild redness and tightness for a day or two. A medium-depth peel means visible peeling for several days, with full recovery typically in about a week to ten days. Pigmentation programmes involve visible peeling and colour change, which are explained fully beforehand.
Will pigmentation come back after treatment?
Pigmentation can recur, particularly with sun exposure, which is why ongoing SPF and maintenance guidance are part of a pigmentation programme. Home care is a core part of the result, and suitability is assessed individually because pigmentation has several possible causes and not all of it responds in the same way.
